qEEG brain mapping. Your neurocognitive baseline, in data.
The diagnostic foundation of every brain protocol at BioHaus. Quantitative EEG in Thousand Oaks — serving Calabasas, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Moorpark, and Camarillo.
What qEEG measures — and why it changes everything that follows.
Quantitative EEG records the brain's electrical activity across 19+ scalp sites, then statistically compares your patterns to a normative database of healthy brains your age. The output is a multi-frequency map showing where your activity is over-aroused, under-aroused, asymmetric, or poorly connected — quantified, not interpreted.
It's the difference between a wellness conversation about "feeling foggy" and a diagnostic readout that says: your alpha is suppressed in posterior regions and your theta is elevated frontally — here's what that pattern is consistent with, and here's the protocol.
Without a qEEG baseline, every brain protocol is a guess. With one, the protocol is prescribed to data.
Who benefits — and who shouldn't.
Every BioHaus member from the Performance tier up receives a qEEG. It's especially valuable for members focused on cognitive performance, sleep quality, attention, anxiety patterns, post-concussion recovery, or long-term neuroprotection.
qEEG is non-invasive, painless, and has no contraindications — the only prep is washing your hair with no product the morning of. It's not a medical-diagnostic-grade EEG (we don't diagnose epilepsy from it), but it's a validated tool for protocol design and outcome tracking.
How qEEG runs at BioHaus.
Your qEEG session takes about 60–90 minutes total: cap fitting, 19-channel recording with eyes-open and eyes-closed conditions, then a structured cognitive task condition. We process the recording through a normative database and a frequency-by-region analysis.
Within a week, your physician team reviews the map and integrates it into your protocol design — informing TMS coil placement, neurofeedback training targets, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy prioritization, and supplement direction.
We re-baseline at protocol checkpoints (typically 90 days into NeuroOptimize, end of TMS courses, end of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy longevity arcs) so you can see exactly what your brain protocol moved.
What's included with every qEEG protocol.
Questions, answered.
Is qEEG the same as a clinical EEG?+
No. A clinical EEG is read by a neurologist for diagnostic purposes (seizures, focal lesions). qEEG is a quantitative analysis used for protocol design and tracking. We work with a clinical neurologist when a finding warrants further medical workup.
How long does the appointment take?+
Plan for 90 minutes including cap fitting and three recording conditions. The recording itself is roughly 30–40 minutes total.
Do I have to do anything special to prepare?+
Wash your hair the morning of the recording with shampoo only — no conditioner, no product. Skip caffeine and alcohol the morning of. Sleep normally. That's it.
How often do you re-map?+
Most members re-baseline at 90 days, then every 6 months while on active protocols. Comparison maps are where the protocol's impact becomes visible.
